How to visit Wikipedia in China
Note: The following infomation is outdated. Fortunately, we've found an easier way to visit wiki -- just download either of these (1, 2) and then double-click.
If you want to visit Wikipedia but are troubled by the blockage in China, this page is for you. In Chinese we have a very famous saying "Dào gāo yī chǐ, mó gāo yī zhàng" (道高一尺, 魔高一丈 - As virtue rises one foot, vice rises ten). So, just follow these steps and you can be a Wikipedian again.
I use Mozilla Firefox as an example. It also applies to other web browsers.
Since you can't get access to Wikipedia directly, you have to choose a web proxy server.
Step 1: Click "Menu->Tools->Options..."

Step 2: In the "Options" dialog box, choose the "General" tab, and then click "Connection Settings..."

Step 3: Now you come to the last and the key step. In this dialog box, click the radio button "Manual proxy configuration" first. Then fill in the "HTTP Proxy" textbox with "145.97.39.131" (you can actually choose from "130" to "139" as the last number) and the "Port" with "80". Remember, this proxy server works for Wikipedia only, so you also need to fill in the "No proxy for" textbox, i.e., "*.cn, *.tw, *.jp, *.com, *.edu, *.net, localhost", so that your browser will visit these sites (for instance, gnudoyng.blogsome.com) directly.

OK! Now open this link www.wikipedia.org and enjoy it!!!
